Standard sizes run from 10 × 10 to 80 × 120. Zone allowances: bar 100 sq ft, each 8-ft buffet table 100 including the queue side, DJ 50, band 200, head table 100, stage 150. Add a gift-and-cake table at 50 if you want it under cover, and a caterer's prep tent separately.

What size tent do I need for 100 guests?
Seated at 60-inch rounds, 100 guests need 1,200 sq ft of seating. Add a dance floor sized for the crowd (225 sq ft), a bar (100) and a DJ (50) and the total is 1,575 sq ft, which is a 30 × 60 tent (1,800). Standing cocktail style, the same crowd fits under a 30 × 30. The calculator adds whichever zones you tick.
How many square feet per person for a tent?
12 sq ft per guest seated at 60-inch rounds (8 to a table), 15 at 72-inch rounds (10 to a table), 9 at banquet rectangles, 6 standing with high-tops, and 7 in ceremony rows. These are rental-industry figures that include aisles and chair push-back; they do not include the bar, buffet, band or dance floor.
What tent sizes exist?
Frame and pole tents come in 10-ft increments: 20 × 20, 20 × 30, 20 × 40, 30 × 30, 30 × 45, 30 × 60, 40 × 40, 40 × 60, 40 × 80, 40 × 100 and up. The calculator picks the smallest standard size at or above your total. A 30-ft-wide tent is the smallest that seats rounds two across comfortably.
Frame tent or pole tent?
A frame tent has no centre poles, so every square foot is usable and it can sit on a patio or driveway. A pole tent is cheaper and looks more elegant with its peaks, but needs staking into grass and loses floor space to the poles, so step up one size. Sailcloth tents are pole tents with a premium fabric.
What about weather?
Sidewalls add about 20% to the rental and are worth it for wind or a cool evening; clear tops turn a tent into a greenhouse in daytime sun. If rain is likely, a tent sized for the seating plus a covered walkway to the house or restrooms is the plan, not a bigger tent.
